| Art producers in the U.S. and other countries have long adapted the various art forms to bring about awareness and a change of attitude in civilized societies. The most warranted desire of the Juneteenth Heritage and Jazz Festival Organization is to stabilize heritage and cultural tourism in Missouri and its metropolitan cities. Among the many elements and activities designed by the festival are the highlighting of jazz and blues art, their heritage, origins and their association in American civic and artistic culture. These are presented in the organization’s events arranged and orchestrated with all ideas coming together to symbolize the joy, excitement, awareness and fun in celebration of African-American people. The Juneteenth Heritage & Jazz Festival, Inc. (JHJF) and is an affiliate member of the National Juneteenth Observance Foundation (NJOF), International Association of Jazz Educators (IAJE) and the Founding African American Artistic Managers and Executives (FAME) Mission...... to provide better awareness and appreciation of the many contributions of Black Americans post 1865 with emphasis on those made via musical artistry. While doing so the organization establishes and grants economic opportunities and benefits for area heritage & cultural organizations, musicians, visual artist and the local community from the creation and ownership of an official state holiday and tourism product. In addition to producing the annual festival, the organization provides supplementary events as fund-raisers to help offset annual administrative costs. |
